If you are looking for the perfect lights for your garage, warehouse, or office, it will make a lot of sense for you to go for LED shop lights. This is because they are affordable, are easy to maintain, and last long.
Supposing you got such a fixture as your Christmas present, would you know how to install it? Do not worry if your answer is no, as we shall address this problem in this article.
Tools You’ll Need
Here is a list of things that you will need to get the job done:
- Drill
- Ruler
- Wrench
- Chain
- Eyebolts
- S-hooks
The Steps Involved in Hanging a Shop Light
With the above items in place, it is now time to get down to the installation process:
I)Mark the Hanging Spots on The Ceiling
By now, you must know that these lights are held in place by a hook with chains. So, the first step is to identify the distance between the two chains before marking the hanging point.
II) Install The Hook
Now that you know where you’ll be hanging the lights, you should now use the drill to create a hole through the railings where you’ll fix the hook. The drilling should be done vertically and not repeatedly.
After that, you can now insert the tube, screw and tighten the eye bolts into the holes to fix the S-hook into the ceiling.
III) Connect The Power Supply
When you look at the side of the shop lights, you’ll notice that it features a power supply jack. This is where you should insert one end of the cable line. You can use an extension cord if you see the need.
IV) Install The Lights to The Ceiling
Lastly, attach the chains onto the hook and make the adjustments needed to ensure they are fixed as required.
It is now safe to turn on the lights and see that you have done everything correctly.
